Proof Policy

Content Proofs

• A content proof is required for all ads.  A content proof can be provided as either a hardcopy print or a low resolution JPEG file. A JPEG content proof file should be clearly labeled "Proof" to differentiate it from the high resolution ad file. For instructions on creating a JPEG click here.
• All content proofs must be generated at 100% and include crop marks.
• If spot color(s) are purchased, the provided content proof must clearly show the separation of the spot color(s).  (Areas which contain spot color(s) must be clearly identified.)

Contract Proofs

• For color ads, a contract quality, properly calibrated SWOP-standard proof should be included for color guidance on press. A list of SWOP-certified systems is available at http://swop.org/certification/certmfg.asp.  
• All contract proofs must be generated at 100%, and contain a color bar and crop marks, located outside the crop area.  A color bar is available for download in the Downloads section of this site.
• Contract proofs can serve as content proofs. (If a contract proof is provided, it is not necessary to also provide a content proof.)
• If a contract proof is not provided, Source Interlink Media will generate one for an additional charge of $60. Source Interlink Media is NOT responsible for matching color on ads that do not supply a SWOP-certified contract proof.

Submitting Your Ad
Ads can be submitted in any one of three following ways:

1. Mail/Overnight Delivery
2. via Our FTP site
3. Email (Not to exceed 5MB in size)

Mail/Overnight Delivery
For submission by mail or overnight delivery, please send your ad (please include a suitable content proof) to:

Email (acceptable only with prior approval of Ad Coordinator)
The maximum file size accepted through email is 5MB. All files submitted via email must be compressed using a program such as Stuffit® or Winzip®. Please check with your Ad Coordinator to receive prior approval before sending your ad via email. The Ad Coordinator will provide you the proper email address. Proofs are still required for electronically submitted ads (see Proof Policy above for requirements). A file (JPG) can also be supplied as a content proof, but must be clearly labeled as such.

FTP (File Transfer Protocol)
Source Interlink Media maintains an FTP site to support advertisers in the quick and easy electronic delivery of digital ad files. FTP is a simple way to transmit large files over the internet. However, content proofs are still required for electronically submitted ads (see Proof Policy above for requirements).

Accessing Source Interlink Media’s FTP site is easy if you follow the instructions below:
1) Use Stuffit® or Winzip® application to compress your files into a single archive file.
2) Launch Fetch®(Mac) or Transmit®(Mac) or Smartftp®(Windows) FTP transfer software. You can also use Microsoft’s Internet Explorer (PC only). For instructions on using FTP transfer software or Internet Explorer to access the ftp site click here
3) Enter the Host, Username, Password provided below. Press OK.
4) Once the software logs onto the FTP site, you can simply drag-and-drop your file into the appropriate folder. Note: if you have multiple submissions, please upload each one as a separately compressed archive file.
4) After uploading to Source Interlink Media’s FTP site, you must contact the Ad Coordinator to inform them you have uploaded your ad(s), and provide them with the filename(s) used.
5) All files over 90 days old will be automatically deleted from the FTP site.
