Creating a JPEG

Digital Proofs
For ads submitted via email or FTP, a low resolution JPEG file is acceptable in lieu of a hardcopy proof. The JPEG file should be clearly labeled "Proof" to differentiate it from the high resolution ad file.

Creating a JPEG from Quarkxpress 7

• With your ad file open, choose File> Save Page as EPS.
• Make sure to include the word "Proof" in the naming of your ad.
• Click the Options tab.
• Match the settings for each option (General, Color, Fonts, Marks, Bleed, Transparency, JDF and Advanced) to the corresponding screen shots on the right.
• Click OK.
• Click Save.

Open in Photoshop

• Open your EPS in Photoshop and when prompted to Rasterize enter 72 for resolution.

• With your ad file open, choose File > Save Page as EPS.
• Make sure to include the word "Proof" in the naming of your ad.
• Scale should be 100%.
• Select the Bleed tab.
• Bleed Type should be Symmetric and the Amount is .125".
• Click Save.

   Open in Photoshop

• Open your EPS in Photoshop and when prompted to Rasterize enter 72 for resolution.
• Make sure your file is flattened and Save as JPEG file format.

Export a JPEG from InDesign CS2

• With your ad file open, choose File > Export.
• Make sure to include the word "Proof" in the naming of your ad.
• In the Format select JPEG and click Save.
• An Export JPEG dialog box will appear, select All for Pages, High for Image Quality and click Export.


DCreating a JPEG from Illustrator CS2

• With your ad file open, choose File > Export.
• Make sure to include the word "Proof" in the naming of your ad.
• Click Export.
• An JPEG Options dialog box will appear, enter 9 for Image Quality and click OK
